
Certified Safety and Health Manager - Construction
Course Description
The Federal Government requires contractors to comply with EM385-1-1 safety and health training requirements before performing any work on military job sites. Although there is no official approval process from the United States Government for EM385-1-1 training programs, contracting employees are still required to complete this health and safety training in accordance with various other federal government mandates and protection practices.
Learning Outcomes
While the EM-385 regulations align closely with OSHA rules in the Construction Safety Orders, experienced safety and health professional trainers can sometimes overlook the differences in the specific EM385-1 requirements.
The Department of Defense and other government agencies require proof of training that covers the use of the USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
Students will learn the procedures of the Navy Facility Command and the US Army Corps of Engineers contracts.
Students will learn the safety and health requirements of the US Army Corps of Engineers Safety & Health Requirements Manual.
Upon completion, students receive an official OSHA 30-Hour Construction card.
Areas covered include, but are not limited to: Site-Specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP), Introduction to OSHA, Site Safety Health Officer's Qualifications & Responsibilities, Activity Hazard Analysis development, Site Personnel Training, Incident Response, Job-site Auditing, and Hazard Communication.
Additional topics include cranes, rigging, electrical safety, personal protective equipment, and much more.
