Certified Welding Safety Manager
Course Description
The Certified Welding Safety Manager (CWSM) program is an advanced
four-day professional training course designed for safety managers,
welding supervisors, maintenance personnel, industrial hygienists, project
managers, fire watch personnel, contractors, and regulatory compliance
professionals responsible for welding, cutting, brazing, grinding, and other
hot work operations.
This course provides comprehensive instruction in OSHA regulations, ANSI
Z49.1, NFPA 51B, confined space safety, fire prevention, ventilation
systems, PPE, hazardous atmospheres, compressed gases, electrical
hazards, industrial hygiene, and welding accident prevention.
Participants will learn how to develop, implement, audit, and manage
compliant hot work and welding safety programs for construction, general
industry, maritime, oil & gas, manufacturing, utilities, aerospace, and
government operations.

Understand OSHA welding and cutting regulations

Interpret and implement NFPA 51B Hot Work Permit requirements

Requirements / Prerequisites
Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry or physics OR a bachelor’s
degree in a closely related biological or physical science from an
accredited college or university. Three (3) years of acceptable work
experience may be substituted for each year of an academic degree
program (i.e. Twelve years of experience is equivalent to a bachelor’s
degree).
