Course Description
This course presents occupational safety and health standards that apply to solar energy systems and installation safety. This course teaches students the basic skills they need to work in and install solar systems.
Primary Objective
The primary objective is to ensure that students can comply with OSHA regulations and their location’s policies regarding fall protection, control of hazardous energy, and electrical safety.
Learning Outcomes
Understand the fundamentals of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic components, configurations, and energy conversion principles.
Identify installation-related hazards such as electrical exposure, fall risks, roof work dangers, and environmental conditions.
Apply safe work practices, PPE requirements, and electrical safety protocols when installing, maintaining, or inspecting solar systems.
Conduct site assessments, interpret system documentation, and follow industry standards for safe and compliant solar operations.
